  1. Love it! And good luck teaching those kids ... (waves cane).

Hey which Saint Patricks? I went to a St Pats in Cooma and one in Campbelltown.

Thanks so much for taking part in this, has been so cool!

    1. It was St Patricks in Swansea, just south of Newcastle....best/worst years of my childhood....Major task was to find out if the nuns were actually "bald" under their habits.....as rumour would have it.....never did find out, but suspect the nasty ones were....or they were called nuns as my partner would say because they "get none"

  2. I like how your writing slopes... I'm sure you can make handwriting lessons cool! Not daggy at all!

    1. I have a few tricks up my sleeve and it's having an impact, you can't beat praise though. I do love handwriting and I am the one to write on all the cards because "you have lovely handwritng" as my mum says. Thanks for your compliment!

  3. I remember a story once about how a teacher asked all of her students to write one nice thing about every other student in the class. Write it. In class. As an assignment. She then took all the comments and put them together on a page for each student. Some of her students carried them for years after, and when word came that she had passed away, a lot of her students went to the funeral and said that one assignment had changed their lives. That "praise" trick works especially well when it comes from peers...

    1. This is such a beautiful thing for that teacher to do. At my sons high school their classmates all wrote something about each other that they admired and then they were all put in a "keepsake" box. They still have them and I was so moved to read them.....teenagers can be such harsh critics but then they also can give such great compliments.....I'm borrowing that teachers idea....thank you for the inspiration.
